Little Edie was born at 8:00pm on December 9, 2008 in Albany, New York.
She weighed in at 7 pounds, 1 ounce and was 20.1 inches.
We thought Deanna would be in for a long labor, but Edie wanted out. So much so, she twisted the umbilical cord around her legs, constricting her blood flow.
Our doctor, Dr. Dropkin, decided we'd better do a C-section, and half an hour later, Edie was born without complication.
The next morning, Edie and Momma were both doing just fine.
We went home on Friday despite one of the worst ice storms we've seen in ten years.
Luckily, we had power at our house and were able to cuddle up on the couch and go to sleep.
Edie's been a good sleeper (so far), waking up only a few times during the night.
Edie likes to lie on the couch and look at the Christmas tree, just like her Momma.
This is the very best Christmas present we could ever wish for.
